Sinc just dropped a huge F bomb when she landed wrong on her right foot (44th minute). Amazing that she never winds up going down with injuries. As you age, it's not like you get more flexible or better able to bounce back, you know?
Didn’t Houston Dash have her and then waive her? I remember seeing her play a few games for them and she was straight bad. Why do we always pick up the slack players? And wth are we getting another GK? Lol this recruiting has been comical.
When Soccer Girl hurt her knee, playing, of course, the knee doc pulled me aside and pointed me at that study and workout routine. He loathed that his operating table was populated by soccer girls to a large degree and felt many were avoidable with adequate training and conditioning.
I think you meant to post this over in the NWSL Power Outage Rankings area. But... it's not that it's been lost, exactly, but the knee injury prevention isn't consistently prioritized. Watch a Thorns training, however, and you see how much time everybody spends doing injury prevention and proper movement exercises before the old football gets introduced. It's eye-opening.
I was wondering this same question. Why do we need a short-term replacement GK? I could understand if one of our GKs was injured long-term signing someone just to keep the GK union number at three. But did I miss an announcement of an injury?
I am guessing they would rather do this now than take a chance that they lose someone - to covid (I believe they’re still testing if symptomatic), to injury and be in a position where they have no one backing up.
0-0 draw. A win for Nigeria, a loss for Canada.
NWSL, take note. We need more and better camera angles!
Wow, Franny Ordega with the takedown of Sinc in the box.
One of the few times I've ever seen Sinc become a human Y on the pitch. Absolutely correct call.
Sinc with the PK, and.... wow.
Can't say Sinc didn't give it her all. Just bad choice.

Best player name of the entire WWC field: Nigeria's Gift Monday.
That's pretty dang awesome...although I still consider Priscilla Chinchilla to be an all-time great sports name, too.
Oh, that's good!
So do we have two injured keepers?!
https://www.timbers.com/thornsfc/news/thorns-fc-acquire-alyssa-walker-on-short-term-loan-sign-lindsey-harris-as-goalke
KK heard "5-7 keeper with international experience named Harris."
She assumed "Ashlyn" not "Lindsey."

Has that study been lost to time?

Yeah, how'd that happen. Wormhole between threads?
Maybe we can use it to go back in time and let Sinc re-do that PK.

It means two things:
(1) Eckerstrom said "NO, I am not bailing your asses out again."
(2) Ice Bear ain't rubbin' on Icy Hot for Merritt this time.
Ice Bear is in Sydney right now, so yeah someone must be injured…
My head, consider it scratched. Four keepers? Plus, who nabs a 5'7" spare keeper. Can she leap tall buildings?
She was so bad at the Dash lmao…

Make sure to tune in at 7:30 PT and root for the Rose City Rascal-Rider: https://www.espn.com/soccer/preview?gameId=622582
BTW, it's far better when viewed in the Great White North's native Español over on Peacock. Nobody rolls their Rs quite like a Canuck.
Gotta say, I love these club names from Scandinavia. Kalmar, Brann, Klepp... it's like flipping through the IKEA catalogue.
