Subscription, um, subscribed to! I'm glad you all had the momentum and desire to keep this rolling post-SBN. The transition was pretty smooth, and the new platform is pretty solid. So glad there's still a hub for community discussion of all things PTFC's!
Really happy to help out and to be here. You guys do a great job. I miss the old commenting system where I could "Z" my way through new comments. I miss that. Maybe there's a way to fix that in the future. I'll stick either way.
Yeah we can look into that, right now we mainly use the default method for comments for most posts and newest to latest for game threads. Let me know if you have a preference
speaking only for myself, I'm a big reverse-chronological fan; blogs have been that way since the start of time, and it's just muscle memory for me to have them be that way now.
Serious question here, and I have asked it a few times within discussion threads but have never received a reply. It's now truly germane because STF is going to paid subscription-based content.
Question: What is the relationship between STF and Rose City Review, which is also a paid subscription-based content site for Timbers and Thorns?
Why does this matter? Because -- according to the current mastheads and recent publications -- each outlet has two writers who write for both.
It would be frustrating to have to subscribe in both places to get all the content on the Thorns or Timbers generated by one writer.
But, the real issue here is that if they're going to write for paid -- actually competitor -- subscriptions covering the same organizations, it would seem to me there needs to be a delineation so that there's no double-dipping (i.e., paid subscriptions in two places for any of the same content).
This isn't an analogous situation to when Kassouf writes a special piece for ESPN or The Guardian. That's because the content for The Guardian and ESPN are free and The Equalizer is still his primary gig.
Here it's not clear that there's a primary gig or what exactly the writers' relationship will be to each paid subscription outlet and what content will go where. I think you can see the problem.
I know nobody is getting rich here, I love the work you all do, and I want people to get paid for doing good work. All I am saying is that the situation as it stands, or at least in how it appears according to mastheads and previous publication on each site, does raise some editorial policy and potential conflict-of-interest issues. At least that's why my own previous forays into print journalism, editing, and content-writing tells me.
You don't have to reply to me here. Just please take it seriously and develop a clear policy. Gracias!
Done!
Well worth the cost — coverage and comments.
You rock! Seriously TYSM for the support!
We will open up the chat feature too so everyone can talk to each other live and during all seconds of the week :)

This means the world to us, thank you so much!

Hi, thanks for the question/comment.
Appreciate you bringing this up and super valid points.
STF and RCR have very different types of coverages, but both together provide a full package for all Portland Footy readers.
Melina and I will cover only Portland Timbers for RCR.
We will cover the Portland Thorns for STF with all of our heart and soul.
Both of us are lucky to get to do everything for both Timbers and Thorns and we will only get better from here on out.
Thank you again for your support and time, we are all appreciate it.
If you would like, feel free to send me a Twitter DM or email :)

Reuped, and glad to do it.
You are fantastic! Thank you very much for the support!
Means everything to us!
Done and done! Onward Rose City!
You are absolutely amazing! TYSM!
