"it would be wise to start one of Dairon Asprilla or Marvin Loria in Moreno’s place"

If those are my choices, I'm going with Asprilla every single time. Don't hate Loria, but Asprilla brings more athleticism and flexibility to the position.

Asprilla every single time...

I do not think Moreno gets rotated, he’s fine in terms of fitness and has been playing very well. Yimmi, on the other hand, is coming back from injury and still isn’t fully fit. He should 100% be rotated, and Asprilla should start imo. I wouldn’t mind seeing Niezgoda start, though it’s really his last shot at proving something, to prove if he has a place on this team in an actually functioning attack. If he doesn’t perform, I’m not sure what else there is to say about him (I still think Gio will start Boli and I think that would be my preference).

And yeah, unfortunately I think putting in Caliskan for Paredes is the right call. Paredes is way too important for us right now, we can’t risk him getting injured, and I think Caliskan has the maturity to do a decent job in the midfield, especially against a Minnesota team without Reynoso or Lod. Other than that I think we keep everything the same. The backline should be fine, though I wouldn’t be shocked to see Miller start instead of Mosquera since he hobbled off vs Salt Lake and runs his ass off each game.

This is a game that really should play out like the Vancouver game. We need to get Evander and Moreno involved early, put them under pressure, and finish our chances. Score early and don’t sit back. This is probably the most important game of the week

Trap game in my mind with a rotated lineup. Not happy to see Rasmussen or Larry's get any starts, and a newbie in the midfield could be tough. Hope I'm wrong as we need the win points. But the Loon's pay tough against us also. They have to see this as a possible won on the road.

Agree that too much rotation - and Rasmussen and Larrys would DEFINITELY be WAY too much - plays right into the Loons' hands, OldWinger...

Gotta get right after them from the start like we did with VAN. They have no offensive distributors so press 'em, get turnovers and shoot, shoot, shoot...

I just throw up my hands.

So no Reynoso. And Asprilla starting. We have a great opportunity to take 3 points and climb the table. Just do it!

I think 99.9% of the fanbase would take Asprilla over Loria if given a choice. Of course, there's always a minority opinion. Hell, if we could get our defense traightened out we could maybe squeeze Asprilla into the midfiel and go 352. But alas, we're thin - thinnest? - in the back and stuffed with midfielders. In any case, rumor is taht Reynoso will play tonight. If so, gonna be a battle between him and Evander. Might be an obvious thing to say - but whichever team controls the midfield will probably end up winning. Also Minny's defense is decent but hopefully we can convert one or two..

3-0 Timbers. Let’s go baby!!!

I also think Jaro gets the start with Boli replacing him around 70. No idea what Gio does about Paredes though! He’s played more than anyone over the last few weeks.

D Chara has put in a lot of minutes too but I guess he knows how to conserve his energy. He didn’t look great against SLC so I wonder if he is feeling the wear on the body. Usually he gets a night off for yellow card accumulation by this point in the season but with the injuries he has been more careful this year.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Miller start for Bravo and see Bravo come in later. Still there are only limited rotation options. It would have been great to have a Tuiloma around to take some of these minutes but hindsight.

Naw... I think if anything Bravo or Mosquera come out early and Miller takes over. Starting Miller handicaps the offense in a match that we need to come out swinging.
