He was never going to stay here long term; my hope is he stays all of next season. If not, the Timbers better execute a top 5 all time MLS transfer deal for him in the summer, because that's the value he's brought to this team.
Recent offers have been low ball. Until those offers go up substantively, he's not going anywhere so long as he's still signed with us. It would be dumb to sell him next summer, given the teams' trajectory now, unless someone of equal or greater talent is lined up at the 10. What I hope Ned does is signal ambition by offering Evander a top salary and then signs a quality defender or two.
For sure, and that's why I say it would need to be a top 5 all time deal. Anything less and he stays (he's signed through 2026), and Ned builds a much better defense around this offense, and this team actually becomes legit good as opposed to could-be-really-good. Which is a very, very exciting prospect.
"Kickoff from Rio Tinto (I refuse to call it that name)"
I mean, their current name ain't my favorite, but being nostalgic for the world's biggest mining conglomerate sure does make me miss the days when corporate sponsorships weren't a thing.
Yeah, Rio Tinto has quite a history of forced labor, social displacement, environmental destruction, destabilizing governments to maintain profits, so, yeah, not the best.
Western Farm Workers told us that employees who work in processing at Old Trapper wear adult diapers because they don't get any breaks. 2/3 of Tillamook is mega dairy now. Intel was a sponsor of this years charity match for "land conservation", but they're aiding Kotek in her bid to undo our UGB, who just yesterday arbitrarily decided to practically gift them 373 more acres in Hillsboro. Wyden wants to give them 1700 acres, as if the industrial sprawl isn't already bad enough. Wage theft is rampant in this state, but Democrats won't fund the OBLI who is responsible for investigating it.
I hear what you're saying... but if you're looking for love from corporate sponsors, you're looking in the wrong place. We're no exception. There are no exceptions.
And you didn't even get to Tik Tok. Setting aside the bad foreign state elements of it, it is turning our brains into pudding. Apple, the other sleeve sponsor, knows all about this and everything else, of course. Invasive data and poisonous algorithms, baby.
If you saw a guy losing his mind trying to get one of those goddam lockers to work outside the stadium, it may have been me. I am not proud of my behavior, though the superstitious might have something to say about JRod scoring right after Id my water bottle. Seriously, I missed that much game and more.
Great game. At 3-2 I thought whoever scored the next goal would win, and LAG were getting really, really close.
Huge game and such a joy being there to see it in person! Very tense from start to finish and I'm very proud of our DPs. Zup was amazing on D and I miss Bravo being out there very much. Maxi was outstanding, too.
BTW-did you notice that Timber Joey didn't raise any of the log slices over his head and instead other people did. I thought maybe he had a should injury but maybe there was another reason.
EVANDER.
That's it. Do what you must to make him happy and want to stay here. Make him one of the leagues highest paid, if necessary.

In MLS, soccer is the content fill.
if i didn't know better, i never would have known this was a thread on a well played soccer match!

It would be nice to see Timbers or Thorns do a reverse sponsorship of someone who isn't a sociopath "corporate person", but who am I kidding?
