My harping about the Timbers almost always wearing the pink may be getting old, but dammit, on our home pitch we can't be in our green and gold? The other team comes in wearing their green. That Timbers army song of green and gold should be removed then because the Timbers do not wear those colors.

No mention of my favorite guy-Bravo! As nice as it is to have YC and SB back, we need a healthy and active Bravo to be the best team we can be!

Portland and Austin are having, I'd argue, a somewhat similar season in play and in results. Both teams are looking lost in attack, especially in comparison to yesteryear, and the defense has continued to only be okay (though maybe that's a bit of an unexpected blessing for the timbers).

But now we've shown that we may be beginning our ascent to the middle of the table. This game is exactly the kind we need to comfortably win if we have any hopes of being in a position to earn hardware this season. Not just because its a struggling conference foe in our home, but also because Austin somewhat represents the team that we were just a month ago. Its like a symbolic thing, man

I like the scoreline you predicted - if McGraw were playing. That makes me a lot more nervous.

It'd be nice to see the Timbers build off their recent success and take it to a team that is down. It will be a big game for them. They are in a position where they need to start clawing their way back, and we are in a position to move up as well and keep them down. Despite some threadbare depth in some positions, there is a lot of firepower and depth in other areas to keep the pressure on. It's just a matter of playing harder than Austin and eventually wearing them down.

It will be interesting to see how Gio starts the team and ends the team. Who will be earning minutes and playing time. What is the pecking order now that more and more players are coming back.
