Unfortunately, I think it's the difference between Adidas and Nike when it comes to soccer kits and unfortunately, Nike is locked in to NWSL. I'm looking forward to never seeing the current Thorns kits again after this season. But since Nike has gone off the ultra-modern hipster deep end, I dread what they come up with next. I'll settle for actual team colors regardless of design.
I like these ok. Design- and color-wise, they are great. Never a fan of non-team colors on a kit, but at least they squeeze them in on the lettering, trim and logos. Would have liked to see more of a throwback to NASL Timbers kits instead of West Ham (if that's what it is), but whatever. I mean, if you want to keep it local and honor Charles, why not a nod to the Pilots instead?
Funny, I've got one of those old yellow and green Timbers balls that I've had since I followed the NASL Timbers. Also have pennants from every NASL team, which are cool to look at every now and then.
It was a nice touch using the Timbers Academy player and UP players (at the mural) as part of the campaign. It really speaks to Cliff's work in youth development and at the University.
Excellent kit. I love the clean retro look we go to often. We go there well.
Not mad, but is the maroon significant? West Ham? -that would seem a little odd to me.
At some point I’m hoping for Oregon flag Navy/gold with the beaver on the jock tag, or even better, on the back. I have the hat they made like this. One captain’s band is this too.
Just feels odd to wear another clubs colors to me. If it happens like Seattle looking a little like RSL in the Bruce Lee kit, whatevs. But we’re wearing West Ham’s color for West Ham.
It’s fine. I do find it a little odd. Maybe it’s different enough anyhow.
These look amazing - jersey, jacket, shoes, all look fantastic. Nice job, adidas. I love them.

I love those uniforms. The Thorns should pay attention to that design with different coloring. Its sharp.

You might know this already. But he played for Westham from 1970 to 1973.

Still love the kit.
