Well written piece. The bottom line is we suck on the road.

Yup, and the remaining road games don't get any easier: RSL next week, VAN, then SEA to close out the season. If the Timbers can hold serve at home (LAG aside, which will be a tough game no matter what) they should still make the playoffs, but this loss really hurts their chances at a top four finish and a guaranteed home playoff game.

Yes, the top four thing is off the table, and I'm just hoping for a eighth spot at this point.

Did anyone see something to make sense of the red card? Did he sneak in a little kidney punch with his knuckle that was extremely hard to see in replays?

Two pretty well matched teams. Sometimes we'll lose. Especially away.

I couldn't see anything from the angles on the broadcast or the replay - it all looked pretty benign. Zup came up pretty hot though so clearly something happened, but I have no idea what that might have been.

Bizarre play. It looked so much like a flop, but you never really see someone pop up that angry over a tiny nudge they exaggerate. The move there is to flail around strongly for a while.

I do think there was something. Certainly couldn't see it though.

We didn’t actually do too bad, things went better than I thought in all honesty. They scrambled our defense more than I’d like but we had the better chances overall. Our defense wasn’t all that bad. Antony had three wide open chances and Rodriguez also had that one in the opening minute that looked onside, and at the end of the day it came down to that. Antony has the speed and some foot skills but his touch and finishing are really rough, and I’m not sure that’s going to change drastically during his development. Colorado got a lucky bounce on their first goal and our guys just stopped marking their striker on a free kick. A very disappointing result that felt fair and unfair at the same time.

Subbing wasn’t great, we needed energy and Phil brings on Mora and Williamson. I would’ve taken Paredes and I actually would’ve liked to see Loria get a run out there. Oh well. Galaxy game will be tough, they’re at full strength now and playing very well. But, we are very good at home, and played decently against them earlier this year. I like our chances. But this loss was incredibly disappointing

Being a low end playoff team could be fun. If we could eff up the Giroud/Messi MessiBowl (is it called that yet?, it would be super fun. Seems unlikely with our defense though.
