They don't really have to do that much travel now. They only play 13 away matches - 1 visit per team. But they could probably do a MUCH better job of thinking about local weather conditions, duration of trips, time zones, etc.
Maybe it's not so bad looking at the season as a whole, and I'm certainly not pushing for conferences, but three games *plus* three flights (*plus* crossing time zones) in a week is too much.

Yeah, and that pressure is never going away, at least as long as people want to watch.
Increasing roster size and raising the salary cap in proportion might help, although it may not decrease the demands on starters very much.
Dividing the league into conferences to reduce travel would probably help too.
