Don’t get me wrong, Latsko and McClernon are good players that I would happily take on the Thorns... but I think that speaks more to the Thorns lack of competent B-/C level backups, which is something I’ve been bellyaching about since preseason. I just wouldn’t lose sleep over leaving them unprotected in an expansion draft.

The loan thing is still weird, but I guess I was thinking more of players on loan to the NWSL team in rather than out on loan to other teams. So yeah, add Jimena to the list of players they’d have some heartache about...though as you mention, they don’t seem to value her too much.
I agree that the Reign should be MUCH more worried about their players getting poached, but I do think the top 8 kinda writes itself. The last spot in the Hiatt/McClernon/Dickey/Jimena/Latsko range gets a little more challenging, though picking McClernon over Hiatt is insane to me, fwiw- The real question for me for that last spot would be Dickey or Hiatt. So, subtle difference, but that’s what happens when you have good depth!
