Yep, those last 30 min were the Timbers I know and love. What a collapse. Dumb dumb of Neville to go three in the back. And let's not forget the stupid individual errors. Yeah, the ref was in over his head but we failed to kill off the match. Poor Crepeau.

Yeah, Crepeau deserved a clean sheet.

What else could he have done? He played the hand he was given. You can’t blame him for the pk. That was rookie move on charra

Expand full comment

Lots of guilty parties on that one - could have been a number of different players that the ball hit (not to excuse Chara, because it was stupid). I have no idea why players even bother raising their hands since it's not going to influence any decision and offside is always reviewed anyway.

I was going to say old man move.

Expand full comment

Some good, some bad. 2nd game. Learn, yell, move on and fix the problems. And everybody keep their damn arms down in the box please.

Expand full comment

Good thing getting rid of Gio solved our late game collapse problem.

Expand full comment

Really snatched one out of the jaws of victory there. Three CB formations are just death.

Expand full comment

A Timbers finish if ever I saw one

Expand full comment

Right about now if we do have to seel Evander...I'd invest the money is some solid fbs. And maybe another cb. But not sure we will get the bucks to do so.

Expand full comment

Juan Miranda is out of contract in June. Unrealistic, but would fix a long-standing problem at LB.

Expand full comment

Mosquera is off...too bad his non defense has cost us.

Expand full comment

I think he ran out of gas. I'm hoping that was it rather than just being lazy or too nonchalant.

Expand full comment

Yup. And Zac was out to lunch on that goal too

Expand full comment

JDM a day late on that goal and Zac not exactly covering himself in glory.

Expand full comment

For the love of god Neville, do you know how to kill off a match?

Expand full comment

Nice marking Mosquera.....<eyeroll>

Expand full comment

Fuck. Too much room out wide. Way too much room.

Expand full comment

No fullback

Expand full comment

Or Wing back

Expand full comment

Crap crap. Crepeau did not deserve that. Back line left him out to dry.

Expand full comment

That was inevitable

Expand full comment

I for one am grateful for our GK upgrades

Expand full comment

Crepeau proving his value already.

Expand full comment

Not crazy about this three CB formation

Expand full comment

Crépeau Hell YEAH!

Guys can't lose the ball in the MF like that and let them have numbers.

Expand full comment

We still have some bad habits, truth be told.

Expand full comment

I do hope Crepeau does better with PKs going forward....

Expand full comment

If he keeps being a stone wall in open play I'm good.

Expand full comment

Yeah but the pen was't his fault. We need to score again to put this one to bed. But with this ref, anything could happen.

Expand full comment

I see no difference between scab refs and the ProRefs they replaced unfortunately...

Expand full comment

Omg;; bad mistake

Expand full comment

Can't be signaling for offsides when you're defending a live ball in the box. Unacceptable from DC

Expand full comment

And everyone else . DC was just the unlucky one it hit.

Expand full comment

Didn't Phil add someone to the staff after Joseph left? I know we're still not possessing the ball as much as Nville wants but we seem to be a lot crisper in transition and just general ball handling. Is the new guy having an effect? Or is Neville letting Ridgy & co have more of a say?

Expand full comment

Santi!!!

Expand full comment

He's already got more goals this year than 25 games into last year.

Expand full comment

Thank you woodwork

Expand full comment

I gotta say, a game and a half into the season and the Timbers are moving the ball like I haven’t seen in quite awhile. They are fun to watch again.

right, where all the gio apologists, that dude was trash

Time to be concerned about Evander?

Expand full comment

I think so. I don't think he wants to be here.

Expand full comment

Whole lotta rumors prior to the start of the season. Porble is, we paid $10 ml. Is any team gonna pay that much for him? And given his uneven performance last season? And if he leaves, we will need to fill 2 DP slots?!

Expand full comment

And Mira?

injured foot

Expand full comment

I haven't been keeping track. These are still replacement refs, yes?

Expand full comment

Yep. And according to the latest news, both sides have dug in. The scabs might be calling more matches this season than anyone might have anticipated.

Expand full comment

Too bad. These refs suck

Expand full comment

He had a nice stop but jeez, what is it with goalies trying to dribble the ball against forwards? Please, Pick up the ball!

Expand full comment

It's so good to have Crépeau.

Like did LAFC really neeed Lloris? Wonder what he thinks of today's snowball?

Expand full comment

I remember a game in Colorado like that.

Expand full comment

Lloris signed up for the LA weather, not the SLC weather 😆

Expand full comment

Maybe he got thrown off by the orange color. lol.

Expand full comment

Crepeau........wow

Expand full comment

Gotta say the sponsorless kits look cool as hell. Love the attacking mindset so far but I'd like to see better command in goal.

Expand full comment

Purchase one as a collectible? And then if the new sponsor is like Tillamook or Dutch Bros, maybe get a second? If the new sponsor is like Dibella or Herbalife (ugh) then keep the money in the bank.

Expand full comment

Nah, I'd wear it. Sponsorless kits are cool. Def need a slingshot like you said when we get a permanent one though. Tillamook is my fave

Expand full comment

* sponsor

Expand full comment

Would definitely purchase

Expand full comment

For real, if they sell them like that I'll absolutely buy one

Better late than never to put up the game thread! And just in time for Asprilla's goal. It's only DCU - just like the Rapids - but I'm digging this more aggressive approach. Not 2013 Porterball but more palatable than the last several years.
