P.S. have also been reading about wristbands. If we are not too worried about exact location can we not bother queuing for these and still get into the home end ok?
Yes. You’ll likely be in the upper level (200s), but if you get there about an hour before kickoff, you shouldn’t have any problem getting into 206-209. You might even get the top of the 100 level.
I just wanna cry...we' a 2nd half team and tonite we were a first half team that couldn't kill off this match. If anyone wants to start a gofund to riase $$$ for a fat transfer fee so we can buy a real live starting cb in the winter or offseason not a project but a Chiellini like player that can jelp us 352 then let me know so I can contribute. Every time I see a certain nae on the team sheet I already know we're playing a man down.
It's so predictable...any attacker knows to go right at him. Without McGraw we are sunk. Hell, even with Zac we still only have a half-baked defense. I really really want to know why this FO decided not to cut Mabs loose when they had a chance but went ahead and traded Tulioma.
Tulioma made plenty of defensive mistakes and was part of giving up goals often during his time with the Timbers. Without McGraw, Mabs gets the call. Yes the team needs to acquire a good starting CB. Tonights last goal is more on the team as a whole not getting on the ball and wrapping the game up than it is on Mabiala.
Bravo is really a winger/wingback playing fullback. Yeah, yeah but whatever defense he plays with the Argeentina u23 isn't the same as playing with us. He needs to be pushed further upfield and let him offer width and attack. We need fullbacks who are sturdy on defense and more positionally aware back there.
Problem is he wanders the pitch too much and gets caught upfield. He's not exactly fleet of footl I don't mind too much but as a fullback he needs to be more committed. Just look at that goal he scored - the guy would rather attack. Maybe it is me but this back line needs to be more stay at home unless we go younger and faster. I think McGraw and Zuparic are with pressing despite the lack of foot speed. But overall the back line just isn't suited to playing a high line.
Haven’t been a fan of the way we’re playing so far, don’t have enough in the middle going forward. Bravo playing super thin almost as a third center back at times with Moreno dropping deep. I dunno, it just isn’t clicking for me. Loria also ain’t cutting it out there. But happy to be winning and I know we can play better
We'll do better if we keep sticking to two up front. Not my preferred position for Evander but he's doing ok so far. We need to build the team around him and Boli, attack wise. Get Asprilla healthy and find a way to send Loria back to the bench. We need to get Santi to play a consistent 90 week in and week out - I'm concerned about him since he seems to have regressed. As for Bravo - if we can go 352 he might be more effective given his lack of focus on defending and tendency to wander afield. But the back line needs a makeover, essentially. The bad part is our FO. I just have no faith.
No Druissi so it has been easier for us and maybe I'm on a caffeine high but it does seem like we dominated? Evander was quite influential and looks like he is settling in. I dunno but surely we might have had the edge in possession or at least close to 50%.
Coming in a bit dark on my ipad, too. Also had some issues with stuttering while watching the DCCin match. Applis is not yet ready for prime time ie. NFL, NBA, etc. A shame since putting the us open cup on Apple would be a step forward for the tournament.
Why are we wearing pink at home, again? Pink is not a Timbers color. I'll be so glad when we get rid of these kits.
Wish I was at the match shooting pics tonight but not feeling great so am staying home, but this is a great opportunity to keep our recent momentum going.
Mabiala vs Cascante..who's going to be the worst cb on the pitch tonight? I dunno about you folks but the Ayala news was probably expected but is kinda crushing. I'm exhausted just thinking about all the iinjuries we've accumulated so far. It is a long season and we just need to keep going, I guess. I just hope we can contain Druiussi. Try not let us down, Larrys!
Guess you didn't get the reference. Cascante didn't exactly cover himself with glory during his tenure with us , either. Now do I think Mabs is the worst cb? He's up there but there are some pretty bad cbs in this league. If you want to argue that he's the worst, I would agree but some fan from some other team might not agree. But honestly, I think Cascante is one of those gys who might challenge Mabs for the worst cb title. Let's just say I'm happy Cascante is not on the team anymore; I just wish Mabs wasnt't either.
Oh I got the reference--not a newbie. I well remember Cascante here. I would take Julio straight up for Mabs now any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Yeah well, I'd take Tulioma back any day of the week. Hell, I'd take the Kiwi over both Cascante and Mabs. Just sad to see the lack of depth at the cb position. And the FO can blame itself. GW, etc. had years to fix the issue.
Agreed, Bill over both all day. And FO has held onto Mabs far too long and botched the opportunity to get a solid CB rotation. Just as it's now botching LB depth by apparently being satisfied with Rasmussen.
Going to be fascinating which team shows up today. The team that can’t connect on passes and just sits back. Or the strong teamwork of the past couple games that pushes and makes things happen.
P.S. have also been reading about wristbands. If we are not too worried about exact location can we not bother queuing for these and still get into the home end ok?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but wanted advice for three visiting English chaps for the fixture in the 20th vs Minnesota.
- I take it for atmosphere we are best to book GA supporters tickets in the standing Timbers section?
- can you drink in the ground (you can in the uk, but not when in your seats / watching the game)
- is there a ‘home pub’ to have a few warm up drinks near the ground or is there any kind of build up / Tailgate type action as with NFL?
Thanks in advance
James
Both PTFC teams had draws that felt like losses tonight. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...
I just wanna cry...we' a 2nd half team and tonite we were a first half team that couldn't kill off this match. Fucking hell. Giant L of a tie.
Ref doesn’t even add any extra time. Sigh
RB missing in action? Check! Slow cb? Check! Equalizer? Check! How long do we have to tolerate incompetent defending?
I knew Mabs would cost us at least one goal. Worst fucking CB in the fucking league.
It's so predictable...any attacker knows to go right at him. Without McGraw we are sunk. Hell, even with Zac we still only have a half-baked defense. I really really want to know why this FO decided not to cut Mabs loose when they had a chance but went ahead and traded Tulioma.

Ugh
WTF was Mabiala doing? Of course it's him.
Fuck Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God damn
For gawds sake we let Will Btuin get into a position to take a point blank shot. This back line...
Is Asprilla fully healthy? I don't want to play him if he's not ready. Or am I just being paranoid because of all the injuries?
The Timbers offensive energy level definitely seems to go to a new level when he enters the match, though.
So good from Boli initially but then a really awful miss. That’s rough. Would much rather see Nathan come on instead of Niezgoda rn
Love Franck's energy and work rate, but the finishing just isn't there after the first goal.
Ouch. That'll haunt him.
Much needed goal, we haven’t been playing well, Bravo especially
Whoa. Bravo, Bravo. What placement!
Defender goals
Facts!
Totally expected Bravo to sky that. So happy he didn't
Let's go!!!!!!!
What a hit!
absolutely anemic offense
And why the hell is Zuparic playing fb? Why do we have fullbacks who aren't playing their position?
Ouch
Bravo is really a winger/wingback playing fullback. Yeah, yeah but whatever defense he plays with the Argeentina u23 isn't the same as playing with us. He needs to be pushed further upfield and let him offer width and attack. We need fullbacks who are sturdy on defense and more positionally aware back there.
Disagree, he’s usually amazing on defense. He’s not good further up the field
Whole back line seemed misshapened there. Yikes.
Where is Zac?
YC Accum
Thanks for getting to my question !
Need to find a second goal.
Don't think 1 is enough.
Needed a third goal thanks to Larrys the human anti-highlight reel.
With this back line and without McGraw no lead is safe. Hell, even with McGraw we still have issues.
My goodness...
Prophetic
I really didn't mean to lol
It was just a sick feeling.
Players look super tired, need some more subs to give more energy/boost.
Bravo has been off today
I was really excited for him to get the start, but it hasn't been working tonight for the most part
There's some concern about him and Santi, eh? Both are not having good seasons so far. Just real frustrating.
I agree. There have been moments of brilliance offensively, but play on the offensive and defensive end has been very sloppy at times.
We'll do better if we keep sticking to two up front. Not my preferred position for Evander but he's doing ok so far. We need to build the team around him and Boli, attack wise. Timbers 1-nil at the half
No Druissi so it has been easier for us and maybe I'm on a caffeine high but it does seem like we dominated? Evander was quite influential and looks like he is settling in. I dunno but surely we might have had the edge in possession or at least close to 50%.
What a piece of service, what a wiff
Dime and great finish by Zuparic!
"Rises up like a Salmon!"
What. A. Ball.
That really was an amazing pass by Evander, but Dario Župarić did well to get up for that as well. His first career MLS goal!
Hey now, he scored in the MLS is Back final, the winning goal!
Fair enough. His first MLS regular season goal then.
Z!
Very nice ball played by Evander to Boli. Really like the way Boli gets into position. He is very aggressive with his movement in and around the box.
Boli looking good so far
Yeah his quality is showing tonight
Does the picture seem dark or is it just my tv?
Coming in a bit dark on my ipad, too. Also had some issues with stuttering while watching the DCCin match. Applis is not yet ready for prime time ie. NFL, NBA, etc. A shame since putting the us open cup on Apple would be a step forward for the tournament.
Actually looks low res
Did we give up wearing our green kits?
Why are we wearing pink at home, again? Pink is not a Timbers color. I'll be so glad when we get rid of these kits.
Wish I was at the match shooting pics tonight but not feeling great so am staying home, but this is a great opportunity to keep our recent momentum going.
No Driussi! That is massive. We need to win this game

Is this a serious question? Is there a worse CB in the league than Mabiala right now? I'll await your list.

No Miller on the bench. Guess that explains why Mabs is starting.
Julio cascante IS playing
I thought he was injured
I guess the injury gods blessed both sides this week
Walking to the match. Expecting Timbers will bring it
Going to be fascinating which team shows up today. The team that can’t connect on passes and just sits back. Or the strong teamwork of the past couple games that pushes and makes things happen.
