WotM goes to Houston’s goalposts, fierce showing. Watched live so haven’t seen video but am I overreacting to be disappointed in Bixby? Seemed out of position for the actual goal scored, and should’ve held onto the ball that led to the discounted goals.

We thought Moultrie more than held her own. She needs more minutes and that will come when the Nats are gone. Morris made a mistake putting Reyes in defense. Too small and not very fast. Continue to be underwhelmed by Weaver’s play. And for the love of God, make her shoot through the net for an hour every practice.

Is Moultrie progressing? I know she’s still young and needs minutes but I’m just not seeing what I had hoped.

Better result than last year when Daly and Schmidt burned us at home. Forwards need to improve finishing. Could have had several goals tonight.

We have GOT to move and pass more quickly! You bet every other club is going to watch this tape to see how to shut this team down. Norris mentioned this as a problem in preseason, and once a decent opponent showed up it was a problem again.

I agree

Very true. Went from the front foot to the back foot. And we have seen that a lot with this team. Slow, indecisive, lethargic play. We were lucky to not have the three points stolen by a team not as good as the Thorns.

I think Orlando and KC are genuinely poor, and we came in with an unrealistically high expectation of our attack. Tonight showed us how much work remains to be done.

It was a disappointing result though

I don’t think Houston is a bad team. They have an excellent front line and quality on all their lines

Their front line just needs more time playing together, but Maria Sanchez, Diana Ordoñez and Ebony Salmon are 3 great attacking players.

They’re not bad. They’re not very good, either; 1-0-2, +1GD. The Thorns had another goal or two that they gave away.

For sure

Definitely need some better finishing. Horrid error by Reyes. Thought there were highs and lows for her. The finishing will get better. We saw this last year. Athletes are streaky. They’ll be better

Unfortunately for Reyes, Kuikka played in Europe a couple of days ago so she had to start and had to face just Maria Sanchez, so while her mistake lead to their goal, I can't blame her.

Ugly dropped point....weaver and Soph a little wasteful. Houston goal probably could’ve (should’ve) stood tho

I didn’t think Bixby had that in her grasp. Got lucky there.

I thought so too. Surprised they didn’t look at that more on the telecast

Textbook VAR review.

That’s it. 1-1; rookie error + no finishing + high press. Not a great result against a mediocre opponent.

Houston timewasting for the road point. Salmon off.

Weaver down in the box.

Back up, moving gingerly…

Now Rodriguez over the bar.

Sanchez has been real good

If Portland could finish it wouldn’t matter - Houston’s has nothing. But they can’t . Weaver off the post just now. Eight minutes and change.

We’ve seen these Thorns before

Betfort for Smith? D’Aquila for Moultrie I get, but…?

Jesus wept! Weaver with a great attacking run and cross…but Smith can’t control, flops on her face, and Houston clears.

Izzy for Weaver please
