Kickin' It with Olivia Moultrie - Portland Thorns Edition #3
For our latest edition of Kickin' It, we are joined by Olivia Moultrie. She is a teenage soccer phenom, but instead of the usual footy questions, we get to know her off the pitch instead!
Olivia Moultrie is already one of the best young players in the NWSL. She has paved the way for so many young stars to play professional soccer. Today, Jaedyn Shaw, Chloe Ricketts, and Melanie Barcenas along with Moultrie are leading the league’s youth movement.
She has dazzled with her creativity, immense talent, and playmaking. Don’t be surprised to see her run the show for the next decade or two.
Moultrie made her professional debut on July 3, 2021, coming on as an 83rd-minute substitute in a 2–0 win against Racing Louisville. On August 7, 2021, she started her first game versus Washington Spirit and tallied an assist.
On August 21, 2021 in the Women’s International Champions Cup, she scored off a free kick in the 57th minute against Houston Dash for her first professional goal.
On June 12, versus the Houston Dash, she recorded her first ever league goal.
Now, knowing that she will still be with the Thorns for 2024, The sky is the absolute limit for this player.

Stumptown Footy: What do you like to do for fun on an off day?
Olivia Moultrie: So sometimes it's like, okay, I want to have fun and other times I'm like the time the stuff I can do during the week. I'm okay laundry, grocery shopping, and like, honestly, I've been really into reading. I'm reading the Throne of Glass series right now.
Stumptown Footy: Did Taylor [Porter] get to you?
Olivia Moultrie: Yes, I’m truly obsessed and I love it. So now all my off days are kind of just reading.
