Training Report: The Timbers get Preseason rolling
A change at head coach, international incomings, and return to fitness for key squad players - oh my!
After a week of snow and ice in the Rose City, the Portland Timbers opened up their practice facility to the media on Tuesday, Jan. 23 for the first open training session of the year as the team begins preparations for the 2024 MLS season.
It was a first opportunity to see how Phil Neville, who was hired by the Timbers on Nov. 6 after the club parted ways with long-time head coach Giovanni Savarese last season, is shaping the roster following a disappointing 2023, and the first glimpse at new signings and trialists playing with the first-team.
