Ned Grabavoy and Phil Neville Strengthen Squad Depth as the MLS Summer Transfer Window Opens.
Although the MLS Secondary transfer window may have only opened a week ago, Portland have already been one of the more active teams in MLS — Adding Finn Surman from A-League side Wellington Phoenix on Friday, July 19, and Mason Toye from CF Montreal in MLS on Tuesday, July 23
Surman, 20, is a right-footed center back who joins the Timbers after 51 senior club appearances with Wellington Phoenix, and made his Olympics debut for New Zealand yesterday in a 2-1 opening win over Guinea. He started and played the full 90’, completing 83 percent of his passes and winning his lone tackle in the match.
