If you ask a person what makes a player a legend, you may receive several different answers. However, have you wondered that yourself? What makes a player a legend?
Is it trophies? Is it the way she has impacted the game? Is it her background story? Is it the difficulties and challenges she had to overcome during her career? Is it how much she is loved by her teammates and respected by her colleagues? Is it her character, if she’s humble or not? Or is it just the way she leaves everybody in awe when she touches the ball? Is it the fact she has a natural talent for the discipline she practices or because she puts in the effort? Is it the fact that she leads by example?
If you ask me, I’d say it’s a combination of all those things. A true legend can check all those boxes not because it’s easy but because she has worked hard for it. And who can deny Christine Sinclair can check all those boxes and many more?
