The Portland Timbers are standing at the precipice of success once again: win, and they’re in the postseason.

(They could technically not win and still get in, but let’s not set ourselves up for failure, yeah?)

When Portland faces Houston on Decision Day (kickoff set for 6 p.m. PT, streaming on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV), it will the culmination of so many emotional storylines for what has truly been a roller coaster ride of a season. We could of course see Portland return to the postseason, but we could also see the ascension of a new head coach — and bid some final farewells to some Timbers greats.
